Now check out Jennifer Hudson's new home. It's a long way from the HOOD where she used to live. Here's how the Chicago Tribune is describing it:

Jennifer Hudson, the Oscar- and Grammy-winning Chicagoan who got her start on "American Idol," has a contract pending on a 12,000-square-foot home in Burr Ridge that is listed at $2.795 million, sources told Chicago Magazine.

The house went under contract last week and was inspected Monday. Closing is scheduled for January, according to Diana Ivas of Re/Max Elite, who took over the listing in September. The final sale price will be recorded after closing, but if Hudson buys at the listed price, she will get the house for more than 33 percent off the original asking price of $4.2 million, according to the property listing.
